Edwin Lester Arnold, English writer active between the 19th and the 20th Century is among the pioneers who contributed to the creation of modern science fiction and historical fantasy.

Not only he created Gullivar Jones, the American navy lieutenant who predated and influenced Edgar R. Burroughs’ John Carter, he also invented the immortal man who passes through history getting in contact with famous personalities (a true Highlander ante litteram) and played with the concept of reincarnation in a way that is often found in modern literature.

An author with a strong, yet ironic, style, Arnold can be considered a cross between H.G. Wells and Burroughs with cultural influences from the European Romance and the Decadent movements, yet always pleasant to read.

His five fictional novels

are re-published by Licorne Prints in an series for both the traditional and digital readers
